Valentine’s Dance Preparation is in full Swing!

Everyone is getting super excited for the 1940s themed Valentine’s Dance the Sunday before Valentine’s Day. Join us from 7-11pm on Sunday February 12th for food, drink, and dancing! We’ll have an instructor who doubles as a swing DJ there to lead us and make sure everyone is having a great time!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Just a few holiday schedule reminders:

  • Christmas Eve service will be Saturday night at 7pm. with Upper Room guests
  • Christmas Day service will be with the Upper Room at 5828 Forward Ave at 11am (note, we will not be having a Christmas Day service here in Greenfield, we’ll be joining the Upper Room folks that morning.)
  • New Years Eve we will be trying out a Saturday evening service, at 6pm. Come and worship with us one final time in 2011 before you go out to celebrate!
  • As a result of the Saturday Service, Service Sunday the 1st will not occur, we’ll see you on the 8th!
  • Our Congregational Meeting will be on Sunday Jan 8th immediately following service.

Oh, and mark your calendars for our 1940s Valentine’s Dance on Sunday Feb 12th!

Game Afternoon, Chili Cook-off, and Caroling all in one day!

That’s right, we’re having a crazy day of awesome this coming Sunday the 11th.

Things start off with the Connect Greenfield Game Afternoon from 2-5pm. Come on out and expand your board game vocabulary!

Then enjoy tasting and choosing during our chili cook-off! Enjoy your fill of chili and cornbread and gain energy for the next part of the day.

Caroling! Spread some Christmas cheer by singing about wassailing, silver bells, and the first Noel. Can’t sing well? No worries, neither can I! So come on out and have some fun : )

Bakesale, Parade, and Poetry Success!

Culminating with tonight’s Poetry Night, we finished up 3 awesome events!

Thanks go out to all our volunteers and parade marchers who made the bake sale and parade after party so much fun!

And thanks to all the people who attended those events and poetry reading tonight! We had great turn outs for all the events and we hope to see everyone again!

Upcoming Events: Election Day Bakesale, Parade After Party, and Poetry Night

There are a lot of exciting events coming up here at Greenfield Presbyterian Church! Tomorrow, election day, we’ll be having an all-day bake sale, food sale, and drink sale! From hot dogs to soups and apple fritters to cookies, cider, coffee, we’ll have it all! Oh, did I mention the homemade donuts? Yeah, you won’t want to miss this!

Also, after the annual Greenfield Holiday Parade on December 2nd, warm up with some hot drinks, fresh baked goods, and friendly chatter as GPC hosts our First Annual Parade After Party!

As if that all wasn’t enough, the poets of Pittsburgh will have a reading of their outstanding poetry during the coffeehouse on Monday, December 5th. Starting at 7pm, you won’t want to miss it!

Greenfield Game Afternoon Complete

Thurn and Taxis, The Amazing Labyrinth, and Quiddity were played among others at this month’s Game Afternoon. We’ll see you next on December 11th (don’t worry, the Steelers play on Thursday that day).

Haunted House Success and Happy Halloween!

Thanks to all who helped set up and run the haunted house! We had over a hundred people enjoy it over the weekend as well as people who simply enjoyed the bake sale and kids’ crafts upstairs.

And tonight we had a great group of trick or treaters stop by, Happy Halloween to you all!

We’ll see you next year, bigger and better!

Community Haunted House Oct. 29th-30th

GPC is hosting a Haunted House on October 29th & 30th, Saturday & Sunday, from 6pm-11pm. $5 gets you all the scares you could want! Bake sale and hot apple cider will be available upstairs while the scaring is going on in the basement! This Haunted House has a variable level of scare, all ages are welcome and will be entertained! (We can tone it down for young ones and up for anyone else.)
